Set up at home. Charge with less fuss.

Your EV folder. Ready to go.

Keep your planning tools and charging apps together in a phone folder called EV & Charging. Create accounts, add payment and test your backup cards before a trip.

Official guidance reviewed 18 October 2026. This directory covers major Australian public networks, regional highways and smaller charging platforms. Operators, apps and payment methods change; check each station’s live listing. It is not a guarantee that every Australian site is included.

Start with the everyday tools

Find and cross-check

PlugShare

Find compatible chargers and inspect recent check-ins, photographs, access restrictions and user reports. Set up your vehicle and connector filters, then save useful stops. A map listing is not proof a charger is working or that PlugShare can start it.

Plan the journey

A Better Routeplanner — ABRP

Select the correct model and battery, enter departure charge, arrival reserve and trip requirements, then review planned stops. Cross-check charger access and live status with the operator. Some features require a paid plan.

RFID: a useful backup when phone reception is poor

Order, activate, test

An RFID charging card or tag identifies your charging account. Order it ahead of travel, link it to the correct account and valid payment method, and test a session at a compatible station.

Know its limits

A card can let you start a supported charger without using your phone. The charger may still need its own network connection and authorisation service. RFID does not fix an offline, faulty, occupied or inaccessible charger.

Cards are not universal

Do not assume one card works everywhere, or that a card registered on one network is registered on another. Cross-network roaming, compatible card types and station support must be checked. A contactless bank card and a charging RFID card are different payment methods.

Keep tested cards or tags in the car, carry a bank card for stations that accept it, save operator support details and plan a second charging stop within range. If you start with an RFID card, follow the station’s instructions to stop the session; it may require the same card.

Which app, and is there a card?

“Available” confirms published card/tag support. “Check site” means support depends on the platform, station or account. “Not confirmed” is not a claim that RFID is impossible.
