Plan the next stop, and the backup

A good road trip plan includes more than a line on a map. Confirm charging compatibility, backup stops and the services available at your overnight destination.

This guide is a planning aid. Always follow road closures, weather warnings and the operating limits in your vehicle handbook.

1Map sensible driving legs

Choose stops using realistic driving distance and your recent consumption. Include breaks and daylight arrival where practical. For a hybrid, identify fuel stops as well as compatible chargers.

2Confirm each charge stop

Use the charging operator’s current information and recent availability reports. Check connector, access hours, payment method and site restrictions. A map pin alone does not confirm a working charger.

3Choose a reachable alternative

Select a backup that can be reached with your planned reserve. Allow extra margin for headwinds, diversions, queues and towing where your vehicle is approved for it.

4Save the essentials

Download maps, booking details, charger addresses and key contact information before reception drops out. Confirm accommodation charging directly and ask before using any power outlet.

5Do a departure check

Check tyres, lights, fluids as applicable, load security and the current service schedule. Check official road conditions and weather, then confirm your first stop is available.

Check the official instructions

This checklist was prepared with reference to BYD Australia’s official manual directory and service information. Model-specific limits and operating sequences are intentionally left to your handbook. These general checklists do not verify feature availability for every vehicle.
