Make the screen work for you

Phone compatibility, available apps and menus change with the vehicle and software release. This checklist helps you set up and troubleshoot without relying on a menu path that may no longer exist.

Do not sideload unverified software, bypass vehicle controls or operate the touchscreen while driving.

1Record your starting point

While parked, find the system information screen using your handbook. Record the software version and photograph any settings you may want to restore. Keep VINs and personal details out of public posts.

2Pair one phone first

Use the handbook’s Bluetooth or phone projection instructions. Confirm the required permissions on the phone, then test a call and audio while parked. Use a compatible cable where a wired connection is required.

3Tidy up duplicate connections

If a connection fails, check both the phone and vehicle device lists. Remove only obsolete pairings, restart normally and pair again following the handbook. Avoid factory resets as a first troubleshooting step.

4Prepare for an official update

Read the release notes and on-screen prerequisites. Choose a time when the vehicle will not be needed. Use only official update channels and do not interrupt an installation.

5Check the essentials afterwards

Recheck phone connection, audio, navigation preferences and driver settings while parked. If something has changed, record the version and symptoms for BYD support.

Check the official instructions

This checklist was prepared with reference to BYD Australia’s official manual directory and service information. Model-specific limits and operating sequences are intentionally left to your handbook. These general checklists do not verify feature availability for every vehicle.
